Again, this is a plastic soda straw in a 32-oz. plastic soft drink cup being scraped up and down in the lid, in my quest for a Godzilla/Cloverfield gigantic roaring monster sound. The lower sounds are pulling the straw out and the higher sounds are pushing the straw in. Recorded with a Logitech USB mic and run through Audacity with gverb and pitch changes. Some of the tracks (there are about 4 or 5) are also reversed.

That technique is just plain ingenious.
The result is very imposing and sinister as well.
Real nice work, you clearly know your way around sound recording and editing.
